Linux Systems Engineer
Responsibilities:

  • Configure system and network parameters.
  • Monitor stability and performance.
  • Ensure 24x7 operations.
  • Assist with corporate Linux deployment across various platforms.
  • Rapidly scale system to meet demand.
  • Help develop tools to maintain and monitor the cluster.
  • Write proposals, present to management.
  • Write comprehensive documentation.

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or other technical field.
  • 1 to 2 years experience with Linux/UNIX.
  • Hands-on experience in UNIX or GNU/Linux system administration
  • In-depth knowledge of DHTML, XML/XSLT, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP.
  • Working knowledge of security, web servers, NIS/NFS, MTAs.
  • Programming/scripting (BASH, Perl, Python, PHP and C).
  • Experience in relational database design and administration (MySQL preferred).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Results oriented, high energy, self-motivated.
  • Must be able to learn quickly and get the job done in a high-visibility, high-stress situation.



User Interface Designer

Responsibilities:

  • Defining the user model and interface for new knowledgebase products and features.
  • Developing storyboards, mock-ups and prototypes to communicate ideas for navigation and interaction.
  • Gauging the usability of new and existing products, and making recommendations for change.

Requirements:

  • Solid academic background in human-computer interaction or related field.
  • Three or more years experience designing user-friendly web-based interfaces.
  • Excellent HTML skills, knowledge of JavaScript for rapid prototyping a plus.
  • Aptitude for leadership, communication and teamwork.



Software Engineer, Java

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 6 months to 1 years web application programming experience.
  • Strong Java skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries, design patterns, JSP and servlets.
  • Experience in database design and SQL; mySQL preferred.
  • Significant development experience in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Solid track record delivering successful web applications through the full product lifecycle.
  • In-depth understanding of DHTML, XML/XSLT, HTTP, SSL, TCP/IP.
  • Knowledge of session management, object relational mapping and XML web services.
  • Familiarity with application server, portal, document management, content management and knowledge management technologies.
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of humor.

Graphic Designer

Job Summary:


Design and implement innovative web interfaces for Life science informatics applications. Work with server-side developers to provide high-performance, maintainable solutions that leverage the best practices of Web 2.0 implementation techniques. Provide rich internet applications (RIAs) that combine excellent usability and style. Rapidly develop prototypes to assist in the design cycle, and to communicate possible approaches to achieving the desired functionality.


Requirements:

  • Fluency with standard web-based markup languages, including XHTML 1.0, CSS 2.0 (strict).
  • Excellent JavaScript programming ability, including use of popular frameworks (jQuery, MooTools, Prototype, Script.aculo.us, etc.)
  • Exposure to Web 2.0 communication concepts and tools (AJAX, JSON, XML, etc.)
  • Ability to create and manipulate graphics for use on the web (Photoshop, Gimp, Flash, Visio etc.)
  • Strong capabilities to employ real-world metaphors in designing suitable graphics components (3D buttons, hovering windows, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential
  • Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering highly-polished web-based Prototypes under tight time constraints.
  • Experience with open source software is an added advantage

Education and Experience:

  • B.Tech/BE/PGD/MCA in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • 1+ years experience in developing world-class web interfaces & graphics.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and effectively handle changing requirements and priorities
  • A history of providing innovative and creative solutions
